Chris Lewis scores his 200th Polonia goal!
This week Chris Lewis scored 3 goals to lead his team to a very big 6 to 3 win. The goals and performance were big for a few reasons. Firstly, it was the biggest game of the season for his Men's team. It was against Punjab United who were in a tie for first place and who had only suffered one loss to date on the season. The win was huge for the standings, moves us into the third spot with a legit chance at a top 2 spot if we can finish our last 6 games strong.
The second reason the 3 goals and performance were huge is because it just happens to be Chris's 198th, 199th, and 200th career Polonia goals. Putting that accomplishment into perspective is very difficult but we will try.
- Chris Lewis now has 200 career Polonia goals. The next closest guy is Justin Quinn who has 106 goals. Justin is the only other player with more than 100 goals!
- To add to the 200 goals Chris also has 160 assists. Easy math right? That's 360 points. Next closest is his brother Mike Lewis with 164 and Justin Quinn with 162 points.
- Taking a deeper look at it never mind the 200 goals, Chris's 160 assists alone would almost give him the club lead in points.
He is one of the best Indoor players in the city. Since the first day he join Polonia he has been our best player. He at times has carried our Men's First team on his back thru some rough times. Even with all these accolades, we are not scratching the surface of what he means to this club. Quite simple we don't know where this club would be without him.
This year the EDSA is hosting the Mens Heritage Cup. The 2012 Heritage Cup will run from March 28 to April 12. The Heritage Cup is a time for players, coaches and spectators to unite in a competitive, action-packed, multicultural tournament. Players proudly represent their countries and battle for the championship as fans roar, creating a golden atmosphere.

Polonia Sports Club is looking after the Team Poland entry into the 2012 Heritage Cup. With a handful of strong young Polish players on our Men's Reserve Team, we hope to have a very competitive team in this years Heritage Cup tournament. A gentlemen named Leszek Ptaszynski is organizing the Team Poland entry for the 2012 Masters Mini World Cup. Leszek asked that we post some information here on our website in case you or someone you know might be interested in the Team. Remember, you must be at least 35 years of age to participate. There are a bunch of spots still available on the team and if your eligable to play (aged 35 and Polish) they would love to have you come out to the tryouts. The team promisses to be very competitive and to have a postive atmosphere for players to accel.
