The 2012 Euro is almost upon us! You know what that means: A Euro Pool! We have decided to make the format similar to the 2008 Euro Pool (if anyone can remember) with a few changes. Please take a second to read the rules and regs. Entries can be printed and handed in with payment or feel free to fill out a form and e mail it to mlew1010@gmail.com Entry fee is $10 per pool. Feel welcome to enter more than one pool and to get your buddies, family, or whoever else to enter as well. The more people that enter the bigger the pool. We are NOT using this as a fundraiser and ALL money will be spilt among the top 3 finishers. Please make sure you pay by the deadline (June 8, 2012). If your Entry Fee is not paid in time your pool will be voided and throw out! Payment can be made to Mike Lewis, Chris Lewis, Damien Pettie, Paul Szczepanski, James Taylor, or Chris Bielecki. A spreadsheet showing the scores will be posted on this site and will be updated quite frequently. Prize Pool wiil along with the breakdown will be announced June 9th once we have collected all the pools and the cash. Enjoy and good luck! |

Daniel PilatPolonia Men's First Team# 2 MidfielderA few years back when the young Pilat twins joined our club we could not help but to be really excited. Here came 2 big Polish boys who had decent skills and who could shoot the lights out. At the time our coaches had smiles from ear to ear. Now, fast forward a couple of seasons, our coaches? Still smiling. Daniel spent his first few seasons in our Club with our Reserves. During that time he improved so much. This summer there was no doubt he was ready to make our Men's First team. He earned it. This week only 3 games in Daniel is already getting credit, and he deserves it. He was the reason we were able to bank the 3 points, and ended up getting a 2 to 1 win over the Scona Blues. Daniel scored both our goals, first was an amazing strike from the distance, then late in the game he converted on a free kick placing the ball almost perfectly in the lower corner of the net. So far Daniel has 3 goals in 3 games. He leads the team already and is off to a fantastic start to his season. Not to be outdone twin brother Pawel is leading our Reserves with 3 goals in 3 games as well. We are hoping Pawel keeps it up and View Daniel Pilat's Polonia Player Profile. |

Dave Soto is our Women's First Team coach as well as a Striker on our Men's First Team. Dave has been with us for over a year now and we have come to noticed that Dave spends a fair bit of time on the ground. Wether it be a slide tackle, an attempt to win a ball, or a trip or fall Dave is on the ground more than any other Polonia player. We have decided to put Dave in the spotlight a little bit and since we know that he will be a good sport about it this should be fun. So here is what we are going to do. We are going to keep a running tally here on our website on how many times per game Dave Soto hits the ground. For every "Soto Down!" we are going to make Dave put $0.50 cents in a kitty. The club is going to match Dave's contribution making every "Soto Down!" worth a dollar. Then at the end of the season we are going to have a "Soto Down Afterparty"! where we will use those funds towards the purchase of some cold beer. Update: With all the generousity being shown our Men's Team Head Coach Chris Bielecki has agreed to get involved! He has agreed to kick in $5 bucks for every "Soto Goal!" So if Chris Lewis's early prediction of 100 "Soto Downs!" comes true and we have let's say 6 "Soto Goals! we might have close to $150 bucks to buy beer at the "Soto Down Afterparty!"
